CHARGING BY THE HOUR

Put simply, we charge an hourly rate for much of our work, plus the cost of materials used. For most jobs this works out at £70 an hour, though different skills are charged at different rates with our gas engineers' expertise costing a little more at £80 an hour. Urban Solutions does employ a minimum one hour charge for any job, but after that we charge in 15 minute slots, so if we work for an hour and a quarter then an hour and a quarter is all that you pay for.

We only ever charge for the cost of labour and materials that have been used carrying out work for you, so if you think we've ever billed for anything over and above that please ask us to look into it.

Urban Solutions takes the view that parking fees or central London's congestion charge are our problem, so we don't pass on those costs to our customers. But unless the Government changes the rules in the near future we do have to charge for VAT.

So, that's labour, materials and VAT. We think that's fair enough - and hope that you agree.

FIXED PRICES

There are some tasks that it makes sense to charge at a set price, such as gas safety tests, NIC electrical inspections or boiler servicing. Please find below our prices for these.

QUOTING FOR LARGE JOBS

We also understand that if we are facing a bigger job then customers like to know what to expect from the final bill. In these cases our technical guru, Lee, can carry out a site survey in order to be able to give you an accurate quotation, but quite often he can give an estimate by email or letter after a brief chat on the phone.

Our intention is that our quotes are clear and simple, so we will outline our understanding of the task in hand, let you know a price straightaway, and set out what work will be needed to get the job done.

EASY WAYS TO PAY

Don't worry if you are too busy to meet us at the end of the working day or to stay on site until the end of a job. We accept all major credit cards, so once we have completed the work to your satisfaction and left the property clean and tidy we will call to confirm the final amount to be paid and send you a receipted invoice. We also accept cheques or cash with an invoice, whichever is most convenient for you.
